Stepper Motor Theory


Here is a graph of stepper torque vs speed. As you can see, torque drops off sharply at ~15 rps (900 rpm) fenn- include a graph of power here!

Originally I thought that power was constant above 1000 rpm in most steppers, but it turns out that power drops off linearly with speed. So, ignore my previous comment about how you ought to run steppers faster.
